Jade Factory

The girls loved learning about Jade.  We learned that there are 30 different colors with different meanings.  Green is the most desirable.  You can tell if it is real or fake by holding it up to the light. If you see a flower it is real if you see bubbles or nothing at all it is plastic or glass.  They sometimes will mix Jade with plastic or glass to make it less pure.  Pure Jade is a very expensive stone.  A bangle bracelet will cost you $800.00 American dollars.  The statue of a soldier next to Uncle Zhou and the girls in the picture costs $80,000.00 American dollars.  I am so glad Jie Jie paid so much attention to the demonstration and was able to remember all these facts for me!
