Arrived in Beijing!

Ni Hao friends and family!  We arrived safely after a very long day of travel.  The girls did well on the 14 hour plane ride from Chicago to Beijing but asked often why it was taking so long.  I guess they didn’t realize how long the plane ride would really be!  They are used to short trips to Florida!   After making our way through a very busy and crowed airport we found Zhou, the China Coordinator for our adoption agency, who will be our guide throughout our time here. Jie Jie said “Everyone in this airport looks like Uncle Zhou!”  It was funny but kind of true!  At least from our perspective!  We then met the two other families that will be traveling with us.  The White family will be adopting a 10 month old son and the Sheridan family will be adopting a 20 month old son.   It is a first child for both of them so we are very excited to be part of their journey.

Next we had an hour drive to our hotel where we will stay for three nights while in Beijing.   We had our first of many “authentic” Chinese meals to come and the girls and I decided we are going to try and eat all our meals with chopsticks!   They will give you a fork here (on request) for back up, which is a good thing if you are really hungry!   It is now 9:00 pm here on Thursday which means it is 8:00 am in Ohio!  We have been traveling since we left at 7:00 am on Wednesday.  We are truly exhausted and must get to bed!  We have a big day tomorrow touring the Great Wall!

Good Night from China!
