Day 10- Shamian Island/Medical Appointments

We always look forward to staying at the Victory Hotel and our week on Shamian Island.  The children are usually more adjusted to being with us by now, and it's a more relaxed time to spend together before the next big adjustment of bringing them home.  We reunited with our travel group at breakfast this morning and it was so nice to see everyone and meet their children.  Their boys are just as amazing as Mo-She and are both doing well.  We will spend this week together going to our medical and consulate appointments as well as sightseeing the area.

Taking pictures in the lobby waiting for our bus ride to the clinic.
These two just love their little brother!

Showing everyone his fruit and vegetable book!

Making friend with the doorman!

Next we all board the bus to the medical clinic.  For our last two adoptions the clinic was located on the island and was just a short walk away from the Victory Hotel.  Unfortunately it moved since we were here in 2007 and is now located in the city.  The children all have to be cleared medically before entering the United States.  They get a physical, hearing and vision screening and a TB test if they are over 2 years old.  They used to get any vaccines that they may be behind in as well but fortunately they changed the rules for that requirement.  Now they just have you sign a form saying that you will get the required vaccines when you get them home.  We are so thankful for this new rule!

Mo-She was so cooperative for all of his testing.  He told the nurse that someone "shot him in his arm", then laughed pointing to his arm where they did the blood draw.
Everyone was saying what a brave boy he was!

He is talking to the doctor the whole time he is trying to examine him!

Mo-She passed all his stations!  They had a wine/alcohol vending machine in the
lobby to celebrate!

This was a building we saw outside of the clinic waiting for the bus to pick
us up.  It doesn't look real . . . but it is!

Instead of wine . . . . we bought him a new stroller and an ice cream cone to celebrate!
One more appointment done on our journey home!

First a little taste . . . . . then this reaction below!!!!

We think it might of been his first ice cream cone!

We have more to post on this day but are having major computer issues, so stay tuned! . . . . . . .
