He is talking to us a mile a minute and we are pretending we know what he is saying!
Putting his hand prints on the preliminary documents.
Jie Jie loves helping any way she can. She has been looking forward to a little brother for a long time!
After our trip to Wal-Mart we went to check in at our new hotel. The Crowne Plaza -Henan. It is absolutely beautiful and in a very nice area of Zhengzhou. A 100% improvement from our last place and totally worth packing everything up and moving. The most important part is that we were able to get two connecting rooms which will be a much better living space for our week here.
Cindy escorted us up to our rooms and had more paperwork for us to sign. The adoption paperwork is endless! Mo-Shes (the s is silent so I am going to start referring him to Mo-She) is walking around exploring the room and happy but as Cindy is preparing to leave realizes he is not going with her. Words cannot even describe the feeling you have when you see your child so sad, confused, and scared. Our hearts are all breaking for him. We are trying to console him with toys, snacks and a Chinese children's video but his sobs continue. We know this is all part of the process but it is still so hard to watch. Any adoption parent will agree, the grieving your child goes through the first days they are with you are the hardest to get through.
We decide the best thing to do is get out of this room. As soon as we put on his shoes he smiles and the tears stop.
He is already bonding with his two big sisters!
We explore the hotel and find where the pool is. They have a beautiful Olympic size indoor pool with a small kiddie pool. We are not sure if he has ever gone swimming but "what child doesn't like to play in a pool?" Nice to know this activity will be an option for us. The pool attendant was super nice and gave all of the kids an apple. We proceeded to the lobby to hang out there for awhile.
He is having a ball eating his apple and running around the lobby. Lots of beautiful smiles that light up the room. We cannot believe how fast he is, even with his weak right leg. The girls can hardly keep up with him! Can I just say how amazing my girls are? They are natural caregivers and are so attentive to their little brother!
Everyone is exhausted and it is time to get back to our room and get to bed. Mo-She goes from these beautiful smiles to sadness and tears when we walk in our room. We put his pajamas on and he continues to cry and point to his shoes so we put his shoes back on! He is much happier in his little blue shoes!
We pray over Mo-She for peace, comfort and a restful nights sleep. "Where does my help come from? It comes from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth!"
Thanks for all the beautiful pictures. I love the "pajama" one. I bet those little blue shoes are a familiar comfort for Mo-She. Shu and I will have him barefoot in no time. Jie looks like me "cleaning". Loving and missing all of you - Aunt J
ReplyDeleteMo-She is so precious!! I love his smiles. What good big sisters Shu and Jie are being :) Glad they were able to move you! Hopefully you'll get a chance to enjoy the pool. Love and prayers, Aunt Laura
ReplyDeleteSarah was particularly attached to her shoes when we got her. Love to see the girls making him part of the family.
