Day 3- Hutong

Our final stop for the day was the tour of the "Hutong" or "Old Town" area of Beijing.  It is a  historical neighborhood of Beijing located next to the Forbidden City.  We got to tour it's narrow streets by rickshaw then have lunch served in one of the homes of the locals.  We were very appreciative to be able to share this experience with the girls.

 Our driver loved Shu Shu!


 We were guests at this home.  The house consists of a kitchen and living space only.  Sometimes their might be a small bedroom.  There are no bathrooms or showers.  Everyone in the Hutong neighborhood uses a community bathroom and shower.

    What a fun day it looks like you had! I'm sure that was interesting learning about silk and pearls! The smiles are awesome on the rickshaw too!

    Loving the photos and all the blog updates. Uncle Bobby and I had Chinese food on Saturday. It was yummy and made us think of all of you. Loads of love being sent from Tennessee - Aunt J

    The girls are learning so much and taking in all the Chinese culture. Thanks so much for your comments Aunt J and Aunt Laura. We love that someone is commenting on our posts! The girls think Uncle B and Aunt J should eat Chinese every night while we are here. That way they will really feel like they are with us! LOL!
